Press Release
Order of Precedence and Forms of Address Published
Office of Protocol

The Office of Protocol has today published the order of precedence of the Velocity Interoperability Network. The order determines the ranking of the bodies, representatives and officers of the Network at official occasions, including the signing of agreements, meetings of the Council of Members and visits by outside organisations.
The order places the Network itself, represented by the Ministry, first on external occasions. Within the Network it ranks the heads of the Departments, the permanent representatives of full member organisations, the heads of the Network's services, the delegates of associate members and the officers of the Ministry in that order. Representatives of member organisations rank among themselves according to the year of their admission.
The Office has at the same time published the forms of address to be used in correspondence with, and in speaking to, the bodies and officers of the Network. Outside organisations that write to the Network are asked to follow them; the Office will advise on any case not covered.
Both documents are published on the Precedence and Forms of Address page of this site, together with guidance on how official visits are arranged.
